about CFA MIDSTREAM
Soccer/Football from Ages 3 to 17 and Adult Options.
Club Football Academy Midstream is a soccer club dedicated to servicing our members with the best in class amateur football education and experience in a safe environment.
Our focus is to equip young players with all the necessary skills required to play at the highest level possible. We achieve this by creating an environment that allows skill acquisition in a fun and meaningful manner and then progress to being able to execute the skills under pressure in game situations.
Our program consist of training opportunities during the week and matches on the weekends. We compete in the Football Association of Pretoria (www.fap.co.za)
The club is entering it’s 4th year of existence and we have managed to get to the top tier of competition in Pretoria and managed to win an u13 league and cup in 2019 in the process.
In this short space of time our players have been exposed to international travels and have had the opportunity to play against international teams. In 2019 we had a team tour the United States and we also participated in the inaugural F.A.P. Camp Discovery tournament in Dinakeng.
While the club may be new our personnel are vastly experienced. Our coach qualifications range between SAFA D license to SAFA B License with experience at all levels of the game as well as degree’s in Sport Science, Recreation Management and the like.
The Club’s Football manager (Graham Oosthuis) previously worked at the University of Pretoria and MP Black Aces in the Premier League. The clubs head coach (Bazilepo Kangwana) played for the DRC National team, TP Mazembe and Jomo Cosmos in the professional leagues. We also have provincial coaches in our ranks.
We take our football quite seriously but we also seriously enjoy it and have fun with it, the way most constructs of learning should be. The only way to reach the top of the game is to live it like those that are there already. We provide stepping stones/building blocks for this, cultivating a love for the game that should kick on the development required so get to the top of the game.
You are welcome to let your young stars come and experience a trial session and then take it from there.
A Brief background of the Club. The Dobson family initiated the Midstream Soccer Club and it was Launched in 2017 with the approval of Bondev the Midstream Estate Developers, the launch was an incredible success with over 300 children arriving on that day. The Dobson family started the Midstream soccer club as a project to benefit the midstream community and of course to bring joy to our estate children who love the sport. Our son’s love for soccer, being the main motivational driver behind it. We enhanced and maintain the existing security guard soccer field with facilities and built new soccer fields all at our own cost.
In 2018 we started our first year, registering in the SAFA FAP league. Since then, we have had many achievements in the Club. Some highlights are, 2019 USA tour where 3 members received part Scholarships to study in the USA, 2019 FAP U13 division 3 league and cup champions and 2021 FAP U13 Super League champions, to name but some.
The Midstream soccer club sponsors the midstream security guards with membership fees, league fees, boots, kit and other costs. We also take pride in the fact that we as a club have sponsored 30 Underprivileged Children (from surrounding poor areas) in the club with club fees and kit, costing the club hundreds of thousands of Rands per year. We help them grow and learn in a safe and friendly environment.
